The norm covers mechanical striking plates designed for fixed mounting in frames and specifies requirements and test methods, as well as requirements for product information and labelling. The norm is applicable to mechanical striking plates for doors with a normal opening width (3 mm) between frame and door leaf. For best function, normal door opening between door and frame is considered to be 3 mm all around.
