The norm covers mechanical striking plates designed for fixed mounting in frames and to cooperate with mechanical or electromechanical operated locks. The norm specifies classification, requirements, and test methods, as well as requirements for product information and labelling. The norm is applicable to mechanical striking plates for doors with a normal opening width (3 mm) between frame and door leaf.
